Chief Operating Officer – ARQ Group

Vanessa serves as the Chief Operating Officer at ARQ Group, bringing over 20 years of senior leadership experience across a diverse range of industries, including gaming, financial services, professional advisory, insurance, hospitality, education, and consultancy.

She holds a Doctorate in Business Administration, along with an MPhil, MBA, and a Bachelor of Commerce in Management and Economics. Her academic credentials complement her extensive executive background, having held senior leadership and director-level roles in both local and international settings.

Vanessa is known for her ability to lead high-performing teams and deliver transformative business outcomes. Her areas of expertise include strategic planning, organisational design, employee engagement, operational efficiency, and the execution of complex cross-border projects.

In her role at ARQ Group, she oversees all internal teams, with a clear focus on streamlining operations, enhancing organisational alignment, and strengthening the group’s overall structure. She also plays a pivotal role in driving Strategy and HR advisory, where she provides strategic direction, thought leadership, and hands-on expertise.

Nicholas Warren MBA, CIMA, ACCA, B.Com (Hon) Banking & Finance
Head of ARQ Risk & Compliance

Nicholas began his career in financial services with the Malta Financial Services Authority. He has extensive theoretical and professional experience across financial services, and regulatory affairs and has worked in industry in various roles over a span of 20 years.

Nicholas heads the financial services arm at ARQ Group, supporting clients with the setting up of licenced entities together with ongoing regulatory and operational compliance under the relevant laws and regulations.

Nicholas is focused on investment services including funds, as well as banking and EMIs. Throughout his career he has developed numerous skills and expertise including in strategic management and operations. Nicholas is qualified in Banking & Finance, holds his ACCA and has a Masters in Business Administration with a specialist in strategic planning. He also holds certificates in Islamic Finance.

Kai Kleingunther LLB, B.Com
Senior Advisor – ARQ Risk & Compliance

Kai is a seasoned consulting professional with more than 5 years of work experience. Prior to joining ARQ, Kai worked for PwC Namibia/Germany as a Senior Associate, focusing on Anti-Money Laundering Compliance. Prior to that he managed his own consulting firm, advising and guiding clients on Data Protection, Governance and Training.

Kai holds both an LLB and BCOM Degree. Furthermore, he has compliance and risk certifications from the International Compliance Association and Compliance Institute of South Africa. He is passionate about Data Protection, Governance, and the cyber world.
